Gabrielle P. DeRose is a public relations and communications professional collaborating with The Magellan Group on management consulting and creative strategies for companies and not-for-profit organizations.

Gaby’s expertise includes publications and publicity, the development and execution of special events
and trade shows, implementation and facilitation of innovative strategies, and proofreading and editing.

Gaby has years of executive level experience with Rich Products Corporation, a billion dollar, multi-national privately held frozen foods manufacturer.  Her accomplishments include developing the communications strategy and policies for Rich’s multiple corporate divisions and assets.  She was team leader for the company’s innovation initiative and a key member of its branding strategy team. She also served as the point person for the Rich’s major league baseball bid.

During her tenure as Director of Corporate Communications/Public Relations, the department doubled in size reflecting more vigorous initiatives nationally and globally. She and her team organized and managed Rich’s 50th Anniversary celebration and the opening of Rich Renaissance Niagara. She also played a prominent role in the opening of the city’s downtown ballpark and worked closely with the International Division in developing its trade show strategy.

Recently, Gaby served as Director of Public Relations & Alumnae Relations for Buffalo Seminary.  In this role, Gaby created awareness and increased visibility of the school’s student and community accomplishments.  She coordinated the school’s major fundraiser for several years, significantly exceeding its net profit goal in each of those years, and also managed the Senior Internship Program.  Under her tutelage, a diverse selection of sites participated in the program based on the girls’ career interests.  Sites ranged from ArtVoice and Buffalo Rising to Journey’s End Refugee Services and the SPCA to the Burchfield-Penney Art Center and CEPA Gallery to Moog and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute.

Gaby was a member of Sem’s Marketing and Admissions Committee and a key member of the Sesquicentennial Committee, orchestrating the Distinguished Alumnae Symposium and creating and executing the Buffalo Seminary 150th Anniversary Cookbook.

A former trustee, Gaby currently is president of the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Seminary Alumnae Association and a member of the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center’s Buffalo International Horse Show marketing committee.

A native of Buffalo, New York, she is a graduate of Smith College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature.
